Friends are supposed to be there for you no matter what happens. If one gets mad at the other then they should be willing to sit down and talk it out. My entire life people have been telling me that that’s how friendships work, that they are a two way street, but lately I’ve come to realize that two certain people in my life obviously have a different view on friendship. To them it’s not a two way street it’s more take than give and I have watched them grow distant from some of their good friends because of this but I was to naïve to see that they were also taking advantage of me, I guess that’s just one of my many faults, but within the past couple months my eyes have finally been opened thanks to some of my true friends trying to protect me. The other day I had tried to talk to one of these so called “friends” but they automatically got defensive and demanded I tell them why I was angry with them but they refused to meet somewhere and talk face-to-face and to me that only proves that they don’t really care that much about my feelings or anyone else’s for that matter except for their own. The only good that has come out of this is that I now know which people in my life are my true friends and I love them for standing beside me no matter what happens. Throughout this whole thing I have been trying to use the advice that Ricky, the bassist for Motionless In White, gave in his blog and I hope that it can help my other true friends who are also having difficulties with these two people. Live in the present and try to think of all the positives that you have going for you. He says that we create the world we live in and that whatever we think of most is what the universe will give us, so instead of thinking about how much you are hurt by these people, because if you do the universe only registers the thought of hurt and thinks that you want more of that, think of everything in your life that is good or that makes you happy and the universe will send you more of that. He also suggests making a list of five things you are grateful for before you go to bed every night and then reflecting on those things as you fall asleep and it will help you to become more positive and to forget all the bad that is going on. I hope that I was able to help someone and to the people who I was talking about as being true friends: you know who you are and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
